Community Wellbeing Programmes

Feel more confident and connected by joining our groups

You are here: Home > Community Wellbeing Programmes

About the Service

Our Community Wellbeing Programmes offer a wide range of groups and activities for adults aged 18+ who are living with or recovering from mental health challenges. These free sessions are designed to help you meet new people, build confidence, and learn new skills.

Please note, we are not a crisis service. If you require immediate support, please click here.

Who it's for

These programmes are for anyone aged 18+ who:

  • Lives in London
  • Wants to improve their mental health and wellbeing
  • Feels isolated or would like to connect with others
  • Would benefit from creative, physical or social activities as part of their mental health support

Our Community Programmes activities are aimed towards those who are well enough to engage in group activities with minimal supervision and support, as our activities are delivered by volunteers whose main duty is to focus on delivering the session, and not delivered by dedicated mental health support workers.

If you or the person you are referring may require more dedicated 1-to-1 personal support and care during an activity – or would find it difficult to engage with a group without it – then a different service may be better suited to support you with your needs.

We are proud to hold the Active Westminster Mark, recognising the quality and accessibility of our physical activity programmes.

Harry’s story

Harry has lived with complex mental health challenges for many years, including schizophrenia and the impact of traumatic loss. When he joined our Community Wellbeing Programmes, he was looking for support, connection and a space where he could express himself safely.

Harry first took part in our therapeutic arts programme, where creativity became an important outlet. His passion for music led him to help launch Allkind Music Studio, a digital music production group that gives people a way to explore their feelings and build confidence.

What began with two laptops has now grown into a fully equipped programme supporting over 35 people a year.

Harry is now a valued member of our team. Alongside running Music in Mind, he supports others as a befriender and helps lead our Walk & Talk group.

“Things have never been so great. I’ve found purpose, friendships and a community that understands me.”

Harry still faces challenges, but he no longer faces them alone. His story shows how the right support can help people feel more grounded, confident and connected.

Community befriending

One-to-one support that helps people reconnect with their community and feel more confident living independently. Befrienders can accompany individuals to appointments, leisure activities or simply share a coffee and conversation.

Somatic movement and mindfulness

Led by a yoga and somatic therapist, these sessions use gentle stretching, movement and breathwork to help reduce stress and anxiety while improving strength and balance.

Walk and Talk

Our free weekly walking group explores parks, canals, gardens and London landmarks. Research shows walking in nature can boost mood, reduce anxiety, and support community connection.
