What people say about the service
These words capture what this service is all about: helping people feel seen, heard and less alone.
Nico’s story
When Nico lost her husband to suicide, her whole world changed. Everyday life felt heavy and unfamiliar. She tried to cope on her own, but the grief was overwhelming. What she wanted most was someone who would listen, without judgement and without rushing her.
That’s when she connected with our Suicide Bereavement Support Service.
From the first conversation, she felt a shift.
“It was just brilliant from the first moment... It felt like that person was there for me, and me alone.”
With gentle, one-to-one support, Nico began to make sense of feelings she’d been carrying alone. She joined a peer group too, where she could speak openly with others who understood suicide loss.
Nico no longer carries her grief by herself. With steady support, she’s learned to move forward at her own pace with courage, compassion, and care.
