The world becomes a brighter place when people come together. On 9 April 2026, our incredible staff, colleagues and volunteers gathered for a special celebration to mark the launch of Allkind – our brand-new identity as a fully independent organisation. Breaking away from the Mind federation opens up a whole new chapter for us. This freedom allows us to broaden our mental health services and well-being support across London.
Our Chief Executive, Simon Thompson, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the hard work and dedication of all our teams in shaping Allkind into a successful and vibrant organisation.
“For me this is an emotional day. Everything that we are achieving, doing and being freed up to do is down to your support, trust and confidence. I love this organisation with a passion that I just cannot put into words.”
The event, held at nearby St Matthew’s House and attended by over 101 guests, was filled with voices, laughter and optimism, Legal Counsel and Trustee, Robert Porter, explained his ambition for the road ahead:
“Our objective is to double in size over the next four years and that’s something we’re going to work hard at doing. I got involved with the organisation as a Trustee initially and it’s the best thing I’ve done professionally in 14 years.”
Duygu Cumert, Suicide Bereavement Liaison Officer, remarked:
“It’s really great to see everyone together and have the opportunity to meet all the people I’ve not had the chance to work with.”
Charlotte Quar, Community Services Team Leader/Senior Peer Support Worker, shared her excitement for the future of Allkind, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to filling in gaps in support and being there for everyone. Rob Jordan, Support Worker, reflected on the opportunities for growth and the importance of spreading more kindness into society.
Head of Housing and Support, Dayo Balogun, captured the spirit of the day perfectly:
“I think the next few years is going to be growth, growth, growth for us. We no longer have a geographical restriction in our reach – the sky used to be our limit, but now we can reach for the moon!”
As we embark on a new chapter as Allkind, Simon expressed his hopes for progress: “The future is strong, but we won’t be complacent. This is the start of the new part of the journey. Let’s take this road together. Let’s keep growing. Let’s be there for all kinds of people, and always with kindness.”
Thanks to everyone who joined and made the day truly memorable!
