We are thrilled to announce that, after many years of continued growth and transformation, West Central London Mind is leaving the Mind Federation to step out on its own, with a brand-new identity as Allkind. This isn’t just a name change.  It marks the start of an exciting new chapter as we explore new possibilities for expanding community-based services across London whilst continuing to put kindness at the heart of mental health support.

Our story began 40 years ago with four separate borough-based charities in Brent, Kensington & Chelsea, Wandsworth, and Westminster. Over the past 10 years, through shared vision and a series of mergers, we became West Central London Mind. In becoming a single, larger charity, we have been better able to meet the needs of our 22,000 users and adapt to the ever-changing mental health landscape.

Thanks to our funding from the NHS, Local Authorities, grant givers and the generosity of our supporters, we deliver a wide range of services to help people re-engage with society and live the life they deserve. As we’ve grown and strengthened, so has our passion to support even more people and find new ways to meet the challenges they face.

Simon Thompson, Chief Executive of Allkind, said:

“Right now, with mental health services being stretched, the demand for support has never been higher. We feel this is the right time for the organisation to spread our wings and fly alone, allowing us complete autonomy and greater freedom over our destiny.

“Looking ahead, we aspire to expand beyond the boroughs we currently work within and become a leading London-wide provider of mental health and wellbeing support. Delivering support with kindness is our credo, which is why our new name is perfect.”

At Allkind, we offer a wide range of services and support across the whole mental health spectrum including talking therapies, community wellbeing programmes, peer support and a multitude of specialised services for children and young people. We make sure all kinds of people, of all ages, are supported with their mental health challenges. We believe everyone deserves better.

We’re incredibly grateful to our staff, service users and partners – people who know us best – for their support and feedback in creating our new brand identity. Our name, logo, graphics, colours, fonts, and illustrations all reflect what matters most to our key audiences – our commitment to clear communications, inclusive and compassionate support, and being there for all kinds of people.

Now, as a fully autonomous and independent entity, Allkind is well positioned to continue providing excellent support services, and to grow from a place of strength. Our staff teams, delivery models, and referral routes will remain unchanged, and service users can continue to access support in exactly the same way.
