Mental Health First Aid
Building practical skills to support mental health at work
About the training
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is vital for creating supportive cultures and enabling early intervention for employees facing mental health challenges.
Through this course, employees gain an in-depth understanding of mental health, factors that affect wellbeing, the knowledge and skills to spot signs of someone experiencing poor mental health. The training focuses on early intervention and knowing how to support someone in distress and signpost towards further help.
By training Mental Health First Aiders, organisations create safer workplaces where people can support one another.
What the course covers
This accredited course provides employees with the skills to recognise the signs of mental health challenges and respond in an appropriate way.
Participants will learn how to:
- Spot early warning signs and triggers of mental ill health
- Understand common mental health challenges and their impact
- Use the Mental Health First Aid action plan in real-life situations
- Practice active listening Listen non-judgementally and reassure someone in distress
