Social Value
Aside from delivering high quality services, we realise that we have a bigger role to play.
Why social value matters
Working across London, we wholly support and embrace local social value objectives.Â
How we contribute to social value
Social value is a constant thread through everything we do. Our pillars are:
- Working alongside local employment agencies and partners:
- To ensure that local people are aware of and able to apply for jobs in our organisation.
- Offering opportunities (free where possible) to upskill local organisations through training, workshops and psychoeducational resources.
- Constantly consulting, engaging and empowering local people through:
- Regular, well thought out and inclusive feedback mechanisms such as groups, surveys and attendance on networks and events. These are used to shape services and strategic direction.
- Capacity building across London with both corporate and VCS partners.
- To ensure that we provide opportunities for young people in our organisation:
- Our organisational strategy maps out how we will ensure that specific opportunities exist for young people, such as internships, volunteering programmes and development initiatives.
- True collaboration with communities, partners and people with lived experience:
- Resulting in co-design and delivery of services where different perspectives are valued and included.
- Forging partnerships where skills and expertise are shared across different industries.
- Playing our part in reducing carbon footprints across areas:
- By measuring our carbon created across our buildings, through our staff travel and in our personal habits.
- Through environmental education, delivered through training and internal communications.
- Utilising where possible local suppliers and scrutinising their environmental pledges and awareness.
- Taking long term community resilience seriously:
- As a mental health and wellbeing charity, we help to upskill and support people and educate about what resilience means and how to develop it on an individual and community level.
- Investing in our staff:
- By constantly assessing their wellbeing, happiness and development, always with plans to make improvements and additions to initiatives.
- Empowerment of our staff is key. Ideas are welcomed and a safe culture is high on our priority list.
- Fair pay, fair working conditions and a pipeline of opportunities for a future workforce. Action to identify and tackle inequality in employment, skills and pay.
