Nico’s story

You are here: Home > Our stories > Nico’s story

When Nico lost her husband to suicide, everyday life felt heavy and unfamiliar. She tried to cope alone, but the grief was overwhelming. What she needed most was someone to listen, without judgement or rushing her.

She connected with Allkind’s Suicide Bereavement Support Service and immediately felt a shift. She recalls:

With gentle one-to-one support and a peer group of people who understood her experience, Nico began to make sense of her feelings. She no longer carries her grief alone and has learned to move forward at her own pace, with courage, compassion, and care.

“It was just brilliant from the first moment. It felt like that person was there for me, and me alone,”
