Lucy’s story
When Lucy first connected with Allkind, she was grieving the loss of her aunt, after years of working as her full-time carer. Returning to work brought new pressures, and as the anniversary approached, feelings of overwhelm and anxiety resurfaced.
Having previously attended Allkind’s bereavement support, she knew she could reach out again. Through our online and in-person peer groups and workshops, Lucy learned practical ways to manage anxiety and panic attacks, while reflecting on the roots of her struggles.
“The sessions are facilitated well. If you want to talk, there’s space, and if you just want to listen, that’s fine too. It’s a very welcoming environment,”
Meeting others with similar experiences helped her feel understood and less isolated. Lucy highlights the importance of free, accessible support:
“It really prepares you for the next step and reminds you that you’re not on your own.”
